 Wendy Chaplin

Since qualifying as a Sports Massage Therapist with Premier Training in 2003, I have worked continuously as a freelance therapist, both at various clinics, going into local businesses and also at events. I am also a qualified Personal Trainer and work at The Exercise Clinic, Bourne End offering training and rehabilitation advice to clients as well as teaching circuit classes. I then went on to study sports and remedial massage at OSSM one of only five accredited schools in the UK that teach the prestigious BTEC professional diploma course. This qualification has become the benchmark for quality training, which includes advanced remedial massage techniques and assessment skills, and an advanced working knowledge of anatomy and physiology. More recently I have trained at The Central School of Thai Massage in Leamington Spa with Kathryn Ellis and have discovered the wonders of Thai Yoga Massage and am now able to share this with my clients. In the last few years I have attended several courses at NLSSM with Noah Karrasch to study CORE Myofascial Release and I am able to offer treatments including those techniques for those ready to make the change.

I have been involved and competed in various sports including badminton, running, climbing, mountain walking, yoga, concept indoor rowing and gym work.

I work with people at all levels and ages from 6-90 years, I believe that it's important to use our bodies - if we don't we lose the abilities that we take for granted when we are younger, we lose them and with them our freedom to move and live without pain. I try to make exercise functional and relevant and fun.

Sports massage has become an important part of the work I do and whether it's working with professional athletes, juniors, disabled or able bodied, I thoughly enjoy what I do and believe that everyone can benefit from regular massage.

I have Public and Products Liability insurance and references are available on request, I also have a valid up to date enhanced CRB certificate. I have membership of the following professional bodies Institute of Sports & Remedial Massage and Sports Massage Association (Level 4) and I am recognised as a Pru Health provider and registered with the Complimentary & Natural Healthcare Council. I also regularly attend CPD courses to enhance my skills and keep up with new developments.
