Thai Yoga Massage

Thai yoga massage

Thai yoga massage, also known as traditional Thai massage or simply Thai massage, is an ancient healing art that is practiced widely throughout Thailand. Although it dates back over 2,000 years, it has only recently been available in the West – and only within the last two or three decades in the UK.

Thai massage is different from most other forms of massage. It is a wonderful combination of acupressure, massage and gently applied yoga stretches. Energy lines, acupressure points, muscles, tendons and joints are stretched and opened, stimulating flow of energy and encouraging more freedom of movement.

The treatment is carried out on a comfortable floor mat and you remain fully clothed throughout. It is applied using hands, feet, forearms and elbows in a series of moves to help free tension trapped within the body.

Relieve stress

Appealing especially to those with a stressful or active lifestyle, Thai massage can bring extreme relaxation and peace of mind. The slow, rhythmical treatment appeals to the need to be moved and stretched, soothing the body and allowing the mind to let go completely.

Avoid pain
Thai massage may prevent injury and bring relief from aches, pains and stiffness, particularly in any tight joints – knees, ankles, hips, wrists, shoulders and neck. It may also help with chronic back pain and some types of headache.

Increased flexibility
Thai massage stretches muscles and manipulates joints more than you can do unaided. This increases flexibility, suppleness and range of movement, ultimately improving your posture by helping correct body alignment.

Build energy
Thai massage develops a feeling of freedom, lightness and space in the body. It brings balance and harmony to the energetic body and mind as well as the physical body, making you feel younger and more energised.
